Champion Spawns
Players must kill the spawn through several stages, as the spawn dies it will progress to more powerful creatures until the altar candles are filled. Then the champion will spawn, when it is defeated players can find valuable loot on the champions corpse.
Conducting a Spawn
There are 6 different champion spawns, if the spawn is currently not active (no candles on altar) you can manually activate it by using the Valor Virtue. If none of your party have the Valor virtue you can wait for the champion spawn to reactivate.
Upon activation, the spawn will begin within the area around the altar. As players kill the spawn candles will appear on the altar. Each white candle represents 20% advancement to the next red candle, upon reaching 100% a red candle will appear on the altar. Players must kill the spawn fast enough to progress, if the spawn is killed too slow then progress will be hindered.
Once you have gained enough candles, the spawn will increase in strength. This means higher level monsters will begin spawning which are stronger than the previous. However as the monsters are tougher, it also requires fewer kills to advance the spawn. Below is a chart detailing specifics of how much spawn needs to be slain:
Red Candles | Monsters to Kill | |
---|---|---|
Level 1 | 1 to 5/6 | 256 |
Level 2 | 5/6 to 9/10 | 128 |
Level 3 | 9/10 to 13/14 | 64 |
Level 4 | 13/14 to 16 | 32 |
Upon the champions defeat, the altar will deactivate and no more spawn will come forth. A gold explosion will take place depositing a large amount of gold on the ground. 6 Power Scrolls will be awarded to the top damaging players and the altar will spawn a black moongate which players can use to access the Star Room.
Rewards
There are three primary types of awards granted to the player: Champion Spawn Artifacts, Power Scrolls, and Harrower Skulls. These items are awarded randomly and are deposited into the players backpack upon defeating the champion of a spawn.
Champion Spawn Artifacts
Champion Spawn Artifacts may be awarded to players who vanquish the champion of any spawn.
Power Scrolls
105 Power Scrolls are randomly awarded for killing regular mobs in a Champion Spawn while higher level scrolls (110, 115, 120) are only awarded for slaying the champion of a spawn.
Harrower Skulls
